Saturday, March 10th 10:00 - 12:00 PM - Winter Explore Days Explore the Sherman Ranch on our hike and participate in a prairie scavenger hunt. This activity is a partnership between the Platte PEER Group of Chapman and Prairie Plains Resource Institute of Aurora. Sunday, March 11th 2:00 PM - Dr. William Marsh Presents "1918 Flu Pandemic 100 Years of Questions" at Friends Church, 403 B Ave, Central City. Sponsored by Merrick County Historical Museum.
Monday, March 12th 3:30 - 5:00 PM - MakerSpace Cart (Animation) at the Central City Public Library. The focus will be on animation, and kids will work with simple figures to create an animated action on a small notepad. Then we will explore the MakerSpace program, Animation Studio, which will show how to create more sophisticated figures and actions using computer software. Anyone age 7 or older (including curious adults) is welcome to come and have some fun with a different kind of artwork and technology.
Tuesday, March 13th 6:00 PM - Archer Credit Union Annual Meeting at the Central City Schools Performing Arts Center, Edwin and Bernice Lock Theater, Central City, Nebraska 6:00 PM Business Meeting & Election and 7:00 PM Entertainment provided by John Cook the Head Coach of the National Champion Husker Volleyball Team. All Archer Credit Union members are invited to attend the Credit Union’s annual meeting and board member elections. A delicious meal will be prepared by Fairview United Methodist Church. The Credit Union members and the general public are then invited to hear a presentation by Husker Head Volleyball Coach John Cook. And be prepared to win a door prize!
Thursday, March 15th 5:00 - 8:00 PM - 4-H Pancake Feed and Jr. Leader Cake Walk at the 4-H Building. Adults $5.00 Children 11 and under $3.00. Proceeds go towards Educational learning, 4-H scholarships, and CWF!
Friday, March 23rd 5:00 - 9:00 PM - Nebraska Christian dinner and auction preview. It is free to come and bid on silent bid items or to look around at what will be auctioned the next night.
Saturday, March 24th 5:00 PM - Nebraska Christian Dinner and Benefit Auction. Tickets are $50
Friday, March 30 7:00 PM - SumMore Fun's Creation Station at 1008 16th Street in Central City Learn how to make and repair metal jewelry. This class will introduce you to the basic repair tools, bend metal properly to avoid warping, show you how to attach clasps as well as create hook earrings. The class fee is $10.00. The class fee includes a kit to make either a necklace or a bracelet and matching earrings. Attendees are free to bring their own beads and additional kits are available at the class.
